Spinach Chicken
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 – 2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 5 tablespoon oil
- 7 cups fresh chopped/baby leaf spinach (+ 1 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro if you are not in favor of the flavor of spinach. This is optional)
- 3 cloves
- 3 small green cardamom
- 1 large black cardamom
- 8 – 10 whole peppercorn
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2″ cinnamon sticks
- 6-8 cloves of garlic (a little less than 1/4 cup)
- 5-6 hot green chili pepper
- 4 cup sliced/chopped onion
- 3 medium tomatoes (2 cups blended/pureed/grated with no water added)
- 2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon kasoori methi (dried methi/fenugreek leaves – available in Indian/Pakistani grocery store) – Optional
- 1.5 teaspoon garam masala powder (homemade or store bought)
- fresh lemon juice to sprinkle as garnish
- 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and julienned
