1/4 teaspoon white peppercorn (use black if white is not available) – adds a pleasant warmth
3 tablespoon white poppy seeds
6 hot chili pepper- like Thai Bird, (or to taste) + more for garnish
1-2 tablespoon yogurt, drained and whisked or cream of coconut (optional, if you want a bit more sauce and it also balances out the taste)
5 tablespoon pure mustard oil
3/4 cup fresh or frozen grated coconut (unsweetened)
a pinch of sugar (just to balance the taste and it won’t make the curry sweet)
salt to taste
